A Look At The American School Of Paris

The American School of Paris is an independent day school that teaches international students using an American curriculum. The school has over 700 students in the program, which is divided into three divisions; Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School.

The American School of Paris was the first international school established in Europe. The school offers The American High School Diploma, Advanced Placement Diploma, and The International Baccalaureate. ASP is accredited by the Middle Schools Association and The Council of International Schools.

Lower School Curriculum

ASP’s Lower School Curriculum is balanced so that every child can start the development process. The curriculum strives to help children learn to read, write, explore, and problem solve. The children will also be introduced to music, art, and movement. Field trips throughout France will help the students become more familiar with the French language and culture.

Middle School Curriculum

The Middle School Curriculum serves students between the ages of 11 and 13 years old. ASP has the students collaborate on projects as a way of expressing themselves. The Middle School curriculum focuses on innovation, creativity, and connected learning. The Model United Nations program gives students the opportunity to learn more about the World.

Upper School Curriculum

The Upper School Curriculum challenges students by having them interact in a college preparatory environment. Students can enter the International Baccalaureate program, which emphasizes academic research, critical thinking, and oral presentation. The Advanced Placement program gives students the opportunity to enroll in classes that are similar to American college courses. Students can earn college credits, which they can use to enroll in a university.

The Arts

The American School of Paris has an arts program, which the school believes is important to the development of children. The program strives to help children gain appreciation, respect, and understanding for the visual and performing arts. Theater classes give students the opportunity to create their own pieces. They will have full control over the production. ASP also offers digital film making courses, which give students the opportunity to learn different aspects of digital production, such as lighting, special effects and cinematography.

Athletic Program

The American School of Paris uses athletics to teach young people about the importance of communication, teamwork, and commitment. Some of the sports offered through the program include; soccer, basketball, tennis, and volleyball.
