The IRP is accepting applications from professional journalists to report on peacebuilding and conflict resolution issues across Africa. The deadline is 11:59 pm EST on Friday, June 30, 2017. Applicants can propose stories related to post-conflict peacebuilding. The proposals should focus on any African country with particular consideration to Projects in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Mali, Sudan, South Sudan and Zimbabwe. Time spent in destination country is flexible from two weeks to seven weeks of fellowship.
The proposals targets should not be in areas recently covered by IRP fellows. The fellowship is not intended for students or recent graduates without professional reporting experience. Stories are encouraged in a variety of media and journalists from across the continent are qualified to apply with all citizens being eligible. All applicants must fill application form where they must write 1,000 words plus essay on stories to pursue in English and include a detailed budget proposal. A member of the selection committee for additional follow-up will only contact you if your proposal is selected as finalist for further consideration.
