The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) sponsors the MAB Youth Forum, giving students interested in biosphere reserves the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, meet leaders in the field and network with one another to exchange ideas. A 5-day event, the forum will take place at the Po Delta Biosphere Reserve, Italy, from September 18 to 23. Full funding for travel and attending the event will be provided for 100 participants. An additional 250 participants will receive funding for accommodations and will need to cover the cost of travel on their own.
To be considered for the MAB Youth Forum, applicants must be no younger than 18 years of age and no older than 30 years of age and currently be living or working in biosphere reserves or studying or researching the reserves. Applicants must be nominated by their reserve managers or coordinators and have the backing of their MAB National Committees. Those interested in participating must also submit a motivation letter explaining why they want to attend.
