The International Criminal Law: From Theory To Practice Law Peace & Justice course is an online summer school that allows professionals and students from all over the globe to discuss and engage in debate on the challenges and prospects of international criminal justice. This unique, dedicated school will combine the International City of Peace and Justice, the Hague and the academic knowledge of Leiden Law School to offer a comprehensive knowledge source. This school will take place from June 26 until July 7.
Students that attend this summer school will learn all about International Criminal law within the two week period spent in The Hague. The workshops, lectures and exercises will touch on every aspect of International Criminal law, including genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and aggression. It will also include the rights of accused people and the role of victims, along with modes of liability. In this course, the students will look around the International City of Peace and Justice and will explore several international institutions. Information will be given at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Court.
This summer school is targeted toward law students who have finished a minimum of one year in their degree. It is also intended for professionals with a legal background as well as young graduates.
